A wish came true! - Balenciaga Jacket

A few weeks ago in this post, I was hoping to add another Balenciaga leather jacket to my closet and guess what?  It came true!  I actually managed to find a nice black jacket with black hardware and this time it is in cropped style!

Balenciaga came out with a shorter version of moto jacket in 2010 and 2011 and this new baby of mine is from Fall/Winter collection of 2011.  This jacket is about 2 inches shorter than the original version and in my opinion looks great with dresses and skirts as it hits at the most flattering area of the body.  The all black hardware gives this jacket a more sophisticated look than the usual silver which in my opinion gives a more edgy look.

Well, I think I am contented with my 2 Balenciaga jackets for now and I am just waiting for her to be broken in and gets a bit softer with few wears..

On another note, I am being featured with a few other bloggers in Fashion Bloggers Weekly Round-Up on Fashion Treatment, so do check it out if you can spare a minute :)

Seychelles - Part 2

Hello, all! This weekend I'm sharing with you more snap shots from my recent week in Seychelles, starting with some shots of what I wore.  Since hot and humid was expected, I kept it simple with a lot of shorts and light tees or tops.  My favorite panama hat was everywhere with me!

We did a lot of activities like kayaking (that left my shoulders a bit 'brown'), cycling excursion, zip lining, hiking and of course hanging out at the beach!  This was expected since this vacation involved the boys and they love this kind of outdoor activities.

Along the way we met many 'friends' of nature like the massive jungle spider, the vegetarian crabs (seriously!) and these 100 years old giant tortoises which were the pets of the resort we were staying.  These tortoise will outlive us and our children and that fact alone was simply amazing!

Colors!

Hello, everyone!  Hope you all had a great weekend.  Over here in Dubai, last weekend was blessed with the best weather and we couldn't ask for more!

Not so long ago, I was almost a complete stranger to colors.  My wardrobe mostly consisted of the usual black, white, grey and once in a while blue.  Don't get me wrong, I have always loved colors but hardly wear them, instead I had colorful gadgets - pink laptop, purple phone cover, pink iPod, camera..

But thanks to blogging, I am now a 'convert'!  I am not afraid to wear colors anymore!  Well, I can't say I ditched my usual grey, black and white totally but I started incorporating colors in my everyday outfit :)

This is the most colorful outfit I have ever put together and you know what? I actually like it!  p.s. Excuse the crumpled jacket, I ditched it in the back-seat while driving *blush*

Seychelles - Constance Ephelia Resort

Hello, everyone!  I am back!  First of all, my apology for not visiting your blogs last week but I promise, I will try and catch up :)

I was away in the beautiful island of Seychelles with the family last week.  Frankly I was not sure if it was a great idea to leave Dubai during the best time of the year but after we arrived this beautiful island, I knew instantly I would not be sorry with this trip.  The island is simply gorgeous!! We took a 3 bedrooms family villa at the fabulous Constance Ephelia Resort and if you ever headed towards Seychelles, I strongly suggest this place.

I leave you all now with some snap shots of the resort and see you soon on your blogs!

Corduroy

Hello. everyone, Happy Monday!  Hope your weekend was a good one.  For me, it was great as I slowly recovered and back on track.  I hope this schedule posting thing works out fine, as I should be in the Seychelles when this post is published.  I will resume my usual visits to your blogs as soon as I am back in town again!

Corduroy, love it or hate it.  Me, I can't say that I am a big fan but somehow I have been saving this jacket in my closet for quite some time now.  For me, corduroy gives me a sort of vintage/retro feel when I put it on, in many ways it reminds me of the 70's!  I remember sporting a pair of corduroy bell-bottom jeans back in the 70's when I was like 6 or 7 years old and the feeling they gave me was like "Yeah, baby!  I'm awesome!!"  So in a way I can conclude that corduroy has more of a sentimental value of me getting in touch with my fashionable (or not) side for the first time than anything else :)

What about you, care for corduroy?
