LBD Pairing - Opinions needed!

Good Monday, dear friends!

Hope all of you had a great Thanksgiving get together and scored some great bargain over the Black Friday weekend.  For us non American on this side of the planet, we had a long weekend too.  Dubai was chosen to be the hosting city for the Expo 2020 and we all were awarded a day off on Thursday to celebrate and another 2 days off on Sunday and Monday to celebrate UAE's national day. So, we are still on holiday mode here, sort of :)

On with this week's post - I have had this little black dress for over 6 months and have worn it only once and I think it is high time to showcase it here on the blog.  I absolutely love the dress!  I love the romantic silhouette of the chiffon and the touch of gold on the belt. I paired it with my new Diane Von Furstenberg clutch also with some gold accent on it.

Now here's the tricky bit.  How do I accessories this black dress?  Well, I tried on these 3 combinations of pearls and realized that it is one tough decision trying to decide and this is when all of you kind friends come in.. please let me know your opinion on which combination is the best! Your feedback is very much appreciated!

Combination 1
Fresh water pearl necklace with charm from LENA paired with my old stud pearl earring

Combination 2
LENA pearl and 24K necklace with matching bracelet paired with my old stud pearl earrings

Combination 3

  1. Happy Thanksgiving!! I love your dress, you look stunning! It is difficult to chose combination as they are all so stylish and the necklaces are gorgeous but I do prefer the third one, with dangling ear rings and nothing else!
    Have a great week ahead!

    1. Happy Thanksgiving to you too! And since we are 'Dubai-an' Happy National Day! I kind of like the 3rd one too actually :)

  2. Wow, Mrs C I love your dress! The extra layer gives the impression of a long dress and also the single sheer sleeve is stunning!
I love big earrings in order not to distract from the cleavage/chiffon part. Have you tried gold instead of pearls?
Although I could also think of a short golden choker (then with very small golden earrings only).
    Fabulous clutch by DvF!!

  7. This is a stunning dress, black tie perfection! I think I like the first set best. I think the irregular shape of the pearls fits the dress. It is both modern and classic at the same time. Beautiful bag and shoes. Mrs. C you are class act!

I had a black tie event a while back and had a rough time finding a dress. Everything was so prom dress looking or crazy expensive. Ended up wearing a sixties vintage dress for $7. Wish I had known about your dress!

  15. That dress is so spectacular it needs no help at all except to be worn by someone as beautiful as you! Definitely go with the last option and nice choice wearing your hair up to make the lines of the dress the star of the show.

  23. My vote is for #2! I would also like to see #3, but with a dainty gold necklace that falls just to your bust.
Regardless - it's a beautiful dress and you wear it well!

  24. The dress is stunning, and you rock it! I vote for combo #2, it lengthens your silhouette. I'm about the same height as you, and we need all the help we can get in that department! Next time you wear the dress you have to hold your hand outstretched and say "dahhhling" ;)

  31. First of all, it's a beautiful dress! The accessories I like best with the dress is the earrings. I like the clean neckline. Necklace seems to distract from the beautiful lines of the dress.

  43. Here is my two cents: perfect, glorious dress. Amazing clutch. And after careful consideration and going back and forth I decided it would be the second necklace for me. Because it is so in tune with the neckline of the dress.

Vancouver hosted Expo 86, and it was such a magical, festive 6 months! I'm sure Dubai will be a consummate host! Fun, fun, fun!
